The queen of all hills

So now I'm heading from Dehradun to Mussoorie. The charming hill station in Garhwal hills. You can go from Dehradun to Mussoorie by bus or hire a cab.

Mussoorie! The destination where there are so many places to take photos of.
PC: Aman pahwa

Those mountains were appearing like  smoke had covered them from the top. They were looking so beautiful that it made me feel alive. The beauty, fresh and cool air of the mountains really gives me inner peace.

You can go to kempty falls which is 1400 m above the sea level. There is a waterfall, where I saw people picnicking and enjoying with their families and friends. It has an akin vibe to sahastradhara or robbers cave in Dehradun, but it attracts tourists.

             Kempty falls!!!! A joyful
picnicking site

That giddy feeling, when you wonder that if you've stepped foot on another planet? I got that feeling when I visited Lal Tibba . It provides me with some amazing and never seen before views.

Lal tibba! The other highest point of Mussoorie.
PC: love uttarakhand

It's the place which makes you feel overwhelmed but it makes you want to have a camera in your hand, because there are so many beautiful views offered by those hills and mountains but it's impossible to capture it in a single frame.

Still you'll have fun trying. I saw the sunset view from the peak. I also saw many people there who were trekking with the instructor , to make sure if they needed any help.

Don't skip this attraction! It's worth venturing over to the city.

Then I moved towards Happy valley. This is the place where Tibetans first arrived. A Buddhist monastery is there which is surrounded with oaks and deodars. When I entered the monastery, the monks were sitting and enchanting their religious prayers.

Happy valley!! Such a peaceful place it is.

The structure and architecture of the monastery is so impressive nonetheless. It's such a peaceful place, that you can spend many hours there depending on how eager you are to stay and soak up the atmosphere.

That such a lush green place. There were many restaurants, which Tibetan cuisines. I tasted chebureki, the minced meat and onion filled in it was so good and chester mog also.

I loved it!

And here's the view when I was going back from happy valley. PC: Stampsnborders.

Gun hill is 14 minutes away from happy valley. Well it is the second highest peak of Mussoorie. It's a proper family spot, where many activities are performed for every member of the family.

You can have an impressive view from gun hills. PC: The creative pix              Such a beautiful scene it is!!!!                                 PC: Akshatha k rao

Next, a cab over to mall road. Well I'm telling you that's such a bustling place because of the tourist season. There was always something fascinating to see. This is the heart of the queen, as it is the main tourist attraction here.

And here it is the mall road!! It can be        the most busy place of Mussoorie.                             PC: Rahul Chauhan.

It's one side gives you the scenic view while on the other side there are many shops, restaurants and narrow paths for the walking of  pedestrians. There were some paragliding sites also. Some of the best paragliding sites are there in the world but you can try here also. That's worth doing it.

Plunging mouthfirst into the hill's food scene is the perfect way to know about that place. I'm a big foody, I like to eat different types of food. So I tried a lot there .

The delicious boiled corns which                        gives you warmth inside. PC:                                        Isha

I found some people on the narrow path and they were selling boiled corn by adding some spices, onion, tomatoes in it. And that was so amazing. I also tried tandoori momos, spring rolls with a spicy chilli sauce, hot gulab jamun in such a cold weather were my favourite ones, ras malai .I really loved it!

The spicy tandoori momos were                              just outstanding!!!!

You know what, after eating food in the night, I saw a beautiful view in the hills. It was appearing like someone had decorated them with lights.  As those were the city lights which are in the footsteps of Garhwal hills. That was really a mesmerizing view!!.

This is the other side of mall road where you can eat anything or take pictures of this scenic view. PC: Bikram j singh

Within a walking distance, just 5 minutes away from mall road, you'll find Christ Church. It is a historical site which was built in the 1800's, the oldest place in Himalayan region.

                   The Christ Church!!!!

That was such a heavenly place, as there was stained glass and gothic architecture in it. There was also a shrine crucifixion of Jesus. Such a holy place it was. Many people were sitting there and girls were singing Christian prayers. I lit a candle there and prayed.

My next venture is to benog wildlife sanctuary which provides habitat for indigenous birds and animals. That was thickly forested with pine and fir trees. You can have the incredible views of snow capped mountains and the stream of river into a sanctuary.

This is an extraordinary activity for your first day in the hill station.

Where to hearth when you are in Garhwal hills?

Mussoorie is a tourist place, so there are many guest houses and hotels there to live.

Well, I stayed at a cottage. The staff of that cottage was  so heart-warming. They really helped as much as they could. They told me about the tourist attractions there. He told me about his favourite food spots and also he taught me some of the garhwali words, which the locals living there generally use .

When should you visit here?

The best time to visit Mussoorie is in winters. You can enjoy snowfall here.

I don't recommend you go there in summer or in spring because of so much crowd. As in India the summer vacations start from june to July, so people prefer to go to hill stations. And this creates so much chaos there.
